Dear Friends,
Bainbridge Island has a sad piece of history that I recently contemplated while visiting the Japanese American Exclusion Memorial not far from my home. This landmark commemorates the 110,000 Japanese Americans who were relocated to interment camps in the United States.
In the hysteria following the Pearl Harbor bombing, Japanese Americans were viewed as potential saboteurs and collaborators against the US. Immediately the FBI compiled a "Custodial Detention Index" tracking Japanese American citizens believed to be dangerous to national security. President Roosevelt then signed an executive order authorizing the internment of all people of Japanese ancestry living on the West Coast.

A must read. Tarek Mehanna a man with a Faithful Heart and a Fearless Mind.
An American Muslim punished for his political views delivers an extraordinary statement in court.

In one of the most egregious violations of the First Amendment’s guarantee of free speech seen in quite some time, Tarek Mehanna, an American Muslim, was convicted this week in a federal court in Boston and then sentenced yesterday to 17 years in prison. He was found guilty of supporting Al Qaeda (by virtue of translating Terrorists’ documents into English and expressing “sympathetic views” to the group) as well as conspiring to “murder” U.S. soldiers in Iraq (i.e., to wage war against an invading army perpetrating an aggressive attack on a Muslim nation). I’m still traveling and don’t have much time today to write about the case itself — Adam Serwer several months ago wrote an excellent summary of why the prosecution of Mehanna is such an odious threat to free speech and more background on the case is here, and I’ve written before about the growing criminalization of free speechunder the Bush and Obama DOJs, whereby Muslims are prosecuted for their plainly protected political views — but I urge everyone to read something quite amazing: Mehanna’s incredibly eloquent, thoughtful statement at his sentencing hearing, before being given a 17-year prison term.

Informed Comment – Israeli Ambassador Michael Oren not only called the head of CBS news in an attempt to quash a report on the displacement of Palestinian Christians by the Israeli Occupation of the West Bank and East Jerusalem, but he briefed Prime Minister Binyamin Netanyahu of the far right wing Likud Party on his attempt.
Here are the top ten reasons Israel’s Likud Party would have wanted to censor American television news on this occasion (and of course we don’t know all the occasions they have successfully done so):
1. The report told Americans that there are Palestinian Christians. Right wing Israelis have attempted to displace, expropriate and erase the Palestinian nation, and to convince Americans that Palestinians don’t exist or if they do are enemies of the U.S. When the foe of the US was the Soviet Union, they made the Palestinians Communists. When the foe became al-Qaeda, they made the Palestinians violent fundamentalists. But if some percentage of Palestinians is Christians, then that fact disrupts the propaganda. In fact, millions of Palestinians are descended from the 700,000 or so Palestinians ethnically cleansed by the Israelis from what is now Israel in 1948, of whom about 10 percent were Christian.

This is Zionism – Converting the land of Prophets into Sodom and Gomorrah. Jews awake before the curse befalls.
Two Bat Yam residents charged with bringing Ukrainian women to Israel to work in prostitution; two others indicted for running brothels
ed note–LEST WE FORGET–
And Moses, and Eleazar the priest, and all the princes of the congregation, went forth to meet them without the camp. And Moses was furious with the officers of the host, with the captains over thousands, and captains over hundreds, which came from the battle. And Moses said unto them, Have ye saved all the women alive? Behold, these caused the children of Israel, through the counsel of Balaam, to commit trespass against the LORD… Now therefore kill every male among the little ones, and kill every woman that hath known man by lying with him. But all the women children, that have not known a man by lying with him, keep alive for yourselves. And the booty, being the rest of the prey which the men of war had caught, was six hundred thousand and seventy thousand and five thousand sheep, And threescore and twelve thousand beeves, And threescore and one thousand asses, And thirty and two thousand persons in all, of women that had not known man by lying with him. Book of Numbers 31:13-18, 32-35

ed note–in these few short comments, we can plainly see the hidden role Israel is playing in the various dramas taking place in the region, from the revolution in Egypt to attacking its moral fiber to what is going on in Syria, and all the while, as Peres broadcasts the evidence of Israel’s involvement in these dramas, he feigns innocence.

Here we witness the greatest Democracy in the Middle East action. Zionist Israel born on Lies, living under the Greatest Liar on earth, but how long. Zionists are a danger to humanity. When men of wisdom speak – they become persona non grata.
ed note–we can JUST IMAGINE the uproar that would ensue if a JEWISH poet were to write something critical of the US (say for example, the way Americans treated negro slaves) and then was barred from entering the US.
THE SCREECHING WOULD BE HEARD FROM OUTER SPACE.
